WHAT?

Delivered bilingually, the How Green Was My Valley project is a collaboration between educators, key industry partners, the RLSP and 4 local authorities across South West Wales. Digital skills development and the Net Zero agenda are the two key themes we will explore.

WHY?

Fully funded and accredited digital upskilling for KS2 teachers and BA(Hons) teaching students as well as pupil skill development in the classroom aligned to the Net Zero agenda.

These new skills are also aligned to the DCF and the new Welsh Curriculum.

When?

The fully funded train-the-trainer, 2 hour, online sessions for KS2 and student teachers will run throughout 2023/4.

Creation of a better informed and upskilled body of Students

Pupils will benefit from development of their literacy, numeracy, digital competence and environmental skills. As well as the opportunity to work as a part of a collaborative team on a topical,  Net Zero aligned project.

 

In addition to the online training sessions, teachers will benefit from access to an exclusive online resource hub including:

 

  • Bespoke resources and localised projects from global industry partners, Tata Steel and Port of Milford Haven.
  • Accessible, Net Zero teaching and learning resources, ready to be used in the classroom
  • On-demand video tutorials

REGIONAL BUILDATHON
LIVE FINALS

Pupils will be invited to take part in local authority build competitions, culminating in 10 winners from each local authority participating in a regional live-build final Buildathon in early 2024!
