Teachers must choose a lesson from the How Green Was My Valley website that has an underlying theme of Net Zero through the use of Minecraft for Education.

On-demand digital skill development sessions for staff to upskill on Minecraft are available (at no cost), if required.

Teams of 3-4 pupils maximum, from Year 4, 5 and/or 6 classes must use the rubric from the design sections of the lesson plan they choose, to guide their builds.

Teachers should share all resources from the lesson plan to assist the students.

Please note that the How Green Was My Valley project is fully funded by a grant awarded by the RSLP and no costs, including transport to the Champion of Champions event will be incurred by schools. Additional funding is also available for supply cover to be reimbursed.

Videos must show the completed world and key aspects that fit the brief (rubric)

Make sure to mention your team’s name and school ONLY. Do not give your names on your videos or show anyone’s faces please.
Name your file starting with the name of your team, year group & school, for example, BigshotsYear4FerryhillPrimary
Students will need an educator to submit their world.
The Team Leader will not provide any individual team member’s personal information or identifying content (e.g, people’s faces, name, age, personal location) in the information/ submissions they provide as part of the Build Challenge, only a team name is required to identify the Team Member/s.

WINNING TEAMS

Winners will be announced by 15th December
Multiple winning teams can come from the same school
Winning teams from Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea authorities will all be invited to a central location for the regional Champion of Champions Minecraft Build Challenge with some phenomenal prizes awarded to the regional Champions, across many categories.
Return transport will be provided at no cost to the school or pupils.
